Metis Art

Sharing Traditions through Art, Literacy, Math & Science. Métis people were called “The Flower Beadwork People” by the Dakota & Lakota people. Métis flower beadwork was inspired by the floral embroidered designs of the Nuns and the medicines of their First Nations Grandmothers. Patterning, spirit beads and stories are all told within the beadwork. Thank you Mrs. Kulhavy!
